Anniversary Trip Ideas
As your anniversary approaches, you might consider getting away from it all with your spouse. This is a great time to leave the kids with their grandparents or aunt and uncle, and get reconnected with each other. But where should you go?
For close to home, low-budget ideas, consider a local Bed and Breakfast for the weekend. You and your hubby can sleep in, eat a marvelous meal, and then explore your surroundings. Or just stay in bed all weekend, it's entirely up to you.
If you are in the winter months, then perhaps a ski trip is in order. Rent a cabin, chalet, or a resort room and enjoy the peace and solitude. Head out to ski, snowboard, or even go for a toboggan ride, and then back to your room to curl up on the couch and have a cup of cocoa. Build a snowman, have a snowball fight, or just hole up and watch the flakes fall.
Those who prefer sun to snow can find a fun beachside adventure within a few hours flight-and soon be warming themselves and enjoying a tropical drink. Go for a walk at sunset on the beach, a horseback ride, or a swim in the pool. If your budget can stretch a bit more, consider a couple's massage, hot-air balloon ride, or some other small luxury.
When you reach an important anniversary, perhaps you want to break out the big guns and go somewhere extra special – a cruise through the Mediterranean, bicycling through the British countryside, or backpacking through Indonesia is just the tip of the iceberg.
The place you pick depends on your budget and what you and your spouse wish to do. If you are at odds over where to go and what to do, consider splitting the vacation between two of your favorite activities – like a few days relaxing on the beach and then an overnight hike.
