Maternity Fashion: Simply Smokin'

Author: Sara McTigue

Who are You?

Simply Smokin'

Patterns, trends, and too much skin are unnecessary. In fact, you could wear the same outfit for days without anyone noticing because you look so good. You know what works for you and you stick with it. You know how to show some skin, but realize that leaving more to the imagination is what makes it exciting. Your confidence is your biggest asset since that is always in style.

Celebrity counterpart

Angelina Jolie. As if it were a uniform, Angelina wore the maxi dress throughout her pregnancy. By finding a great fit and choosing flattering colors, she managed to make carrying twins seem easy and sexy. Ballet flats and loose hair completed her trademark look for a comfortable and easy style that oozes confidence and marks her as a truly hot mama.

Try this:

  • Find what works for you. Those great pregnancy boobs might be high on the list of bonuses, while your swollen feet and ankles are not so hot. Play up the positive and disguise the negative with long dresses or pants paired with tops featuring a flattering neckline.
  • Heels can pose dangers for pregnant women due to the shift in your center of gravity. Low heels or flats can still look sexy, without risking a fall.
  • Use accessories that make a statement. A large cocktail ring or dangly earrings can go a long way. Find pieces that can stand alone.
  • Basic doesn't mean boring. Sticking to a neutral color palette means that you can mix and match pieces to get the most out of your maternity wear.
  • There is nothing sexier than a happy, confident mama. Enjoy your new shape and embrace the glow that pregnancy gives.
