Ovulation Calculator

Are you trying to get pregnant or planning on it in the near future? If so, you can greatly improve the likelihood of getting pregnant by determining when you will ovulate next. Ovulation is the release of a female's ripe egg from her ovary. When this occurs, you are the most fertile.

Use our Ovulation Calculator to estimate your next ovulation date; simply enter the first day of your last menstrual period and the average length of your cycle. Because our tool provides you with only an estimate, consider yourself the most fertile during the period of 3 days before and 3 days after the estimated ovulation date. Best of luck!!

Hey, I have a question. My last period was October 18,2014 I lasted 6 days . I want to know what day i ovulate?

I also want to know what day could be my average length of cycle. Can someone please help me I’m wanting to conceive

Hi Maria – In order to know your average cycle length you need to start tracking your periods. You can do so easily with the help of an app on your phone, I’ve used Fertility Friend on my Android. The length between your cycles is just the number of days between the first day of your periods. Once you determine this, you can come back and use the ovulation calculator to help you determine when you’re likely ovulating. I also highly recommend using an Ovulation Predictor Kit and start testing a few days before this calculator tells you you’re likely to ovulate and continue testing until you get a positive. It also couldn’t hurt to start having sex every other day when you start testing, then a few days in a row once you get your positive test result. Best wishes!

I have a period tracker on my phone and it told me when I should have ovulate . My husband and I did are thing the 14th the day I was suppose to ovulate after wards I have had cramps dizziness some period like systopms as well but nothing came till today .. A week later I started my period .. What’s the deal then?

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Brittony – Sorry to hear you didn’t conceive this time. I’d recommend using an Ovulation Predictor Kit and start testing a few days before this calculator (or the one on your phone) tells you you’re likely to ovulate and continue testing until you get a positive. It also couldn’t hurt to start having sex every other day when you start testing, then a few days in a row once you get your positive test result. Best wishes!

Hello, I have a question. The first day of my last period was May 24, 2014 and it lasted 5 days like normal. I was intimate with a person on May 31, 2014 and intimate with a different person June 2 and June 7. I am so confused as to who the father might be?? As October 6, 2014 the baby measured as 19 weeks and 2 days! Please help!

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Rene – If you put the first date of your last period into the field above, and if you usually have 28 days between the start of your periods, then according to this you likely ovulated on 6/7/14. You can discuss paternity testing with your doctor as well. Best wishes!

Can get pregnant the day before you ovulate because I had sex on October 14 2014 and my ovulation date was on october 15 2014 my last period was on October 1 2014 and it ended on October 4 2014 please help me

Hi there – Sperm can survive within within cervical mucus or the genital tract (your vagina, uterus or fallopian tubes) for three to five days. So, viable sperm my already be present by the time ovulation occurs. An egg survives no more than 24-hours after ovulation unless it is fertilized.

Have you tried using ovulation predictors during the time predicted by our ovulation calculator? They’re very helpful, just in case you aren’t pregnant this time. Best wishes!!

My last period was on sept 26.. i had unprotected sex oct 6,7,10 & 11! Is there a chance i could be pregnant?

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Sarai – You could be, it depends when you ovulated. Did you use an ovulation predictor kit? If it didn’t work out this month, I’d recommend the following: Do you normally have 28 days between periods or is it more or less? Plug that info into this tool and then start using ovulation tests a few days prior to the date generated by the tool, to be on the safe side. You can also start tracking your cervical mucus and basal body temperature, and download a fertility tracking app on your phone to help you organize this information. Here’s some info on the things I’ve mentioned, plus some additional help: http://www.everydayfamily.com/preconception-boosting-your-odds/. Good luck!

      • Avatar of Sarai Sarai says:

I did not use an ovulation predictor kit. I do have 28 days between periods! It is always regular. Anyway I hope i am! & thank you for your time! :)

My ovulation date is hard to predict having trouble I recently took out my iud and my husband and I are trying to conceive my LMP was Sept.8th,2014 and i bought the ovulation test and when i was ovulating of course i had sex then waited two weeks after to take a pregnancy test and it was negative. So i was down about that but this time my LMP was Oct.4th 2014 when will i be ovulating the most or when should i have sex to be able to get pregnant?

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Isabelle – That depends on the average length of your cycle. Do you normally have 28 days between periods or is it more or less? Plug that info into this tool and then start using ovulation tests a few days prior to the date generated by the tool, to be on the safe side. It’s usually around 24-28 days cycle.. I’m just confused after taking my iud out I’m not getting regular periods and it only last about 2-3 days …..

        • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi there – A shorter period is normal, the IUD may have altered the length of your menstruation. I’d recommend inputting your info into the ovulation calculator for a 24 day cycle and start testing with an ovulation predictor a day or two before that and continue testing until you get a positive. Good luck!

    • Avatar of Kuldip Kuldip says:

Hi Bell, you must have sex on Oct 17,18,19 & 20. You will be definitely get pregnancy.

Hi I got my period set 14-18. Had unprotected sex step 24, 25, 28. I’m using a app on my phone n it says that I was fertile, but on other websites it shows different fertile day, can I be pregnant?

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Andrea – You may be. Try your best to be patient until you’re supposed to start your period, which is the best time to take a test due to accuracy. If you aren’t pregnant this time, you may want to try using Ovulation Predictor Kits or temping with a Basal Body Thermometer. Good luck!

ovulation is hard one to predict with just a computer tool, monitoring cervical fluid, checking cervix, charting and temping and using opks is the best way to predict your ovulation!

Kinda stuck on when I conceived? My LMP was March 24 2014.. Did I get pregnant before or after my period? My due date is 12/29/2014.. Help so confused

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Denise – Most women ovulate between day 11 and day 21 of their cycle. If your cycle is normally between 28-32 days, you likely ovulated 12-16 days before what would have been the first day of your next expected period. You can also count back from your due date, which would put your conception at sometime in early April. I hope this helps!

  19. Avatar of Kelly Kelly says:

When I used the ovulation calculator 4 yrs ago, it actually gave you an actual calendar to show you your fertile days and literally told you what days to have sex. What happened to that?

  20. Avatar of Stephanie Stephanie says:

Me and my boyfriend had sex on 5-10 and 5-13. According to the ovulation calendar 5-10 was my estimated ovulation date. I have been using the 7 day ovulation test that continues to come back with no LH Surge. Could I be pregnant? I have been cramping the past 2 days and feeling nauseated. Should I just wait until the 23rd to see what happens since that is when my monthly is due to come.

  22. Avatar of brittnie brittnie says:

A little guidance would be greatly appreciated, or if someone was in a similar situation your input would help. My LMP was April 19, according to the ovulation calculator the date I ovulated was May 3. My BF and I had sex April 28, and 29. Yesterday (05/17) the day I was due to start my period, I woke up and started having really bad stomach pains and I vomited twice. I took 2 pregnancy test , one two days before my period and one on my period’s due date. the first test had a faint positive line, and the second test showed negative. I don’t have any symptoms other than nausea, vomiting, I sleep as well. no tender breast etc. could I possibly be pregnant, and could I have tested early?

    • Avatar of Jennifer Jennifer says:

When I first thought I was pregnanti took a test and the same thing happened to me. I got a positive with a faint line. So as excited as I was I went to the store after work and bought a pregnancy test with 2 tests inside. I decided to wait to the next day before trying again. Both tests came up negative, but I knew something wasn’t right. I made a dr appointment for their test a couple days later. I WAS PREGNANT! : ) Im glad I was patient and waited to go to the draw because I would have went broke buying pregnancy tests from the pharmacy. Lol ( note: I was only 2 days late when I went to the dr)

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Brittnie – You very well could be pregnant! False negatives are more common than false positives. Give it another day or two and test again. We have several articles on early pregnancy tests and signs you may also want to read through: http://www.everydayfamily.com/pregnancy-tests-signs/. Best wishes for the test result you’re hoping for!
