Ovulation Calculator

Are you trying to get pregnant or planning on it in the near future? If so, you can greatly improve the likelihood of getting pregnant by determining when you will ovulate next. Ovulation is the release of a female's ripe egg from her ovary. When this occurs, you are the most fertile.

Use our Ovulation Calculator to estimate your next ovulation date; simply enter the first day of your last menstrual period and the average length of your cycle. Because our tool provides you with only an estimate, consider yourself the most fertile during the period of 3 days before and 3 days after the estimated ovulation date. Best of luck!!

my period is usually a 28 day cycle but last time it was 39 days and now i’m at day 36 with no sign of a period yet. can average cycle lengths change over time? Whats the best way to predict ovulation if it keeps changing? I took a pregnancy test on day 33 recently and it was negative. Could it have been too early to get a positive result?

Please help. I started my period on the 28th this month(november) will i be ovulating around December 22nd?

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi there – That depends on the length of your cycle. How many days do you typically have from the first day of one period to the first day of the next? The calculator fills in an average of 28 days, but this is not necessarily the same for every woman.

Hi i have a worry, its been constantly on my mind, and im worried im stressing to much, I’ve came out of a long term relationship around the 10th of august. I have irregular periods. There like every 2 months, I found out i was pregnant on the 8th of September. The clear blue test said i was 2-3 weeks . I had my scan on the 7th of November, they measured the baby at 12 weeks and 6 days. I’ve got abit of a dilemma and its really worrying me. I had unprotected sex with my ex on the 9th of august, and the 19th and the 23rd at around 2pm august. He ejaculated in me all 3 times, I went out on the 22nd of august and had a one night stand on the 23rd of august at 3am. We used a condom but we then had anal sex as i was quite drunk and fell a sleep straight after and he told me a week later he had took it off and ejaculated while doing anal sex. As far as i was concerned, he did it in the condom. Im guessing this means it is possible it could be his, but more likely to be my ex’s, then the other thing is after i had sex with him, i woke up about 7am, and there was blood on the sheets, what does the mean? around a week later, could be abit longer, i had sex with my ex again and bled after sex then. It never lasted though. Both time it stopped bleeding pretty much straight away, Could this mean i could of already been pregnant on the 23rd of august from previous times i had sex with my ex such as the 19th as serum can live up to 5 days, so ive heard. Its says on the pregnancy calculators that i would of ovulated on the 23rd, based on my due date the 16th of may 2015. I know i cant be sure unless i do a paternity test when the baby is here but what’s the more likely option it will be. I haven’t bled again since those two time, and the baby seemed fine on the scan. Its really embarrasses me talking about it, but its constantly weighing on my mind now. Thank you.

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Suzanne – If you had protected sex with a condom during your one night stand, aside from anal, you should be fine as long as the condom did it’s job. I’d recommend using this ovulation calculator to determine when you likely ovulated based on your cycle. You’ll want to change the length of your cycle from the default 28 days, unless this is accurate for you, as it’s just an average. It should be the number of days between the first day of one period, to the first day of the next. Best wishes!

Hi I have a question! Ithe last day of my first period was august 24 cheated on my significant other on august 30! But I’m not reallysure if you would call it cheating! The man was in his 40s but he couldn’t get an erection at all he had on a condom then I think he may have took it off and tried to stick it in me so but then the next day I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend the 31 and days after that and I got pregnant on September 7th is when I conceived so I’m just making sure the baby is my boyfriends? Help?

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Kaci – What is the typical number of days between the first day of one period to the first day of your next period? This will help to determine when you actually ovulated. There’s always a chance you ovulated earlier or later than what this calculator says. Be sure to discuss paternity testing options with your doctor. Best wishes!

Hello. I’m a bit confused and nervous. My due date is 11/25/14 and I had my LMP on 2/18/14 and I had sex with my boyfriend on the following dates:

    2/21/14 (2x)
    2/22/14
    2/23/14
    2/25/14
    2/26/14
    2/28/14
    3/1/14 (3x)

All the dates listed above were unprotected and HE DID ejaculate inside.

I messed up and had unprotected sex with my ex on the following dates:

    3/7/14
    3/9/14
    3/11/14
    3/18/24
    3/21/14
    3/22/14

All the above times were unprotected as well but he PULLED OUT every time.

When he found out I was pregnant he went around saying it was his. He now claims that he ejaculated inside a little bit. On 3/11/14 he swear he ejaculated completely in me so I freaked and took the morning after pill that night. I missed my period on 3/18/14 but I was spotting before that because I remember wearing a pad. But it wasn’t a heavy bleeding. I took 5 home pregnancy test on 3/24/14 And they were all positive. I went to my doctor on 4/3/13 and she said I was about 6 weeks according to the internal ultrasound. I then went to the doctor on 4/24 and had another internal sono and she told me I was about 9/10 weeks pregnant.

I am so confused and I don’t know what to think. My last period dates were :

    2/18/14
    1/23/14
    12/30/14
    12/3/14
    11/8/14
    10/17/14

More or less I get my period within the same week every month. Can someone please help me out?

I wish these Ovulation Calculators worked better for me. I put in my last period which was 9/21/2014 and then put 45 days as the Avg. length of cycles. and the estimated ovulation date came to 10/22/2014….hmmm, today is 11/1/2014?? So I already missed it and there is no option to see the next one.
I know my periods have always been crazy and unpredictable for me so I started tracking them in April 2014. Here are the start dates of my periods from April to now Nov. 1, 2014…Please help me figure out when I should be fertile.
    April 23, 2014
    May–NONE
    June 24th, 2014
    July–NONE
    August 9th, 2014
    September 21, 2014
    October–NONE
Just started the month of November….I take test on the months I miss in hopes but always negative.
    Thanks for the help

Hello. I have a serious question. I want to know who has the most chances of being the father. I had sexual intercourse with Guy 1 on June 1, 2014. Then I had sex with Guy 2 on June 10, 2014. I came on my period the very next day which is June 11, 2014 after I had sex with Guy 2. I had an ultrasound done on September 29, 2014 that said I was 16 weeks and 3 days. My ultrasound is putting my LMP date at June 6, 2014. Is it possible that the ultrasound could be off by a few days? Who is more likely to be the father Guy 1 or Guy 2.

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Jordan – Are you sure what you experienced around June 11th was your period? From the estimations the ultrasound tech/your doctor gave you, you would have conceived around June 6th. I’d recommend talking to your doctor and seeing if they can help you piece together your dates and what your options are for paternity testing during pregnancy. Best wishes!

Hi I’m just wondering I’ve been having intercourse with my partner we trying for baby was having intercourse when I was fertile I got the apps on my phone to see when I am fertile. But now I came on 31st of Oct and its really heavy AMD jelly I last had my period on 7th of Oct when I should be on next week I don’t know if I’m pregnant or not?

        • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Elizabeth – Implantation bleeding isn’t typically heavy, but it wouldn’t hurt to take a pregnancy test. I’d recommend using ovulation predictor kits to pinpoint when in your cycle you’re ovulating. You can start testing a few days before the ovulation calculator on our site says you should be, also having sex every other day during that time, and once you get a positive result have sex every day for a couple of days. Be sure with the ovulation calculator that you’re adjusting the length between cycle (number of days from the first day of your period to the first day of your next period) so that it is accurate for you. 28 days is just an average, but may not be true for every woman. Good luck!

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Kisha – I’m so sorry to hear about your losses. :( This could have been implantation bleeding. Was it lighter than your normal cycle? Have you experienced any other symptoms like tiredness, nausea, sore breasts? Have you taken a pregnancy test? I’d recommend taking one to see. If you’re not pregnant this round, I’d recommend using ovulation predictor kits to pinpoint when in your cycle you’re ovulating. Everytime my prediction calendar says I’m going to be ovualting I get my period, Why?

    • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Jennifer – Are you putting in the correct information in the ‘length of cycle’ field? This varies for most women, 28 days is only an average. Your cycle may be much shorter. The length of cycle will be the number of days between the first day of one period and the first day of the next. This can vary month to month for the same woman as well, so be sure you’re keeping track of the information. Best wishes as you try to conceive!

Hey, I have a question. My last period was October 18,2014 I lasted 6 days . I want to know what day i ovulate?

    • Avatar of Maria Maria says:

I also want to know what day could be my average length of cycle. Can someone please help me I’m wanting to conceive

      • Avatar of Megan KlayEditor Megan Klay says:

Hi Maria – In order to know your average cycle length you need to start tracking your periods. You can do so easily with the help of an app on your phone, I’ve used Fertility Friend on my Android. The length between your cycles is just the number of days between the first day of your periods. Once you determine this, you can come back and use the ovulation calculator to help you determine when you’re likely ovulating. I also highly recommend using an Ovulation Predictor Kit and start testing a few days before this calculator tells you you’re likely to ovulate and continue testing until you get a positive. It also couldn’t hurt to start having sex every other day when you start testing, then a few days in a row once you get your positive test result. Best wishes!

        • Avatar of Maria Maria says:
