Re: Simple arts and crafts projects for a 2 year old
Lol I was gonna say finger painting, but just some ideas that come from my child's daycare: (btw he is almost 18 months)
1. Texture skills: The teacher will use different foods, like potato flakes, rice, and flour to get the kids to understand different textures. They put their "food" on construction paper and just use water to " stick" it to the paper.
2. Use finger paint and find different shaped sponges. Paint with the sponges on construction paper. Some sponges are shaped like trains, airplanes, and cars. My son always pulls this artwork off the fridge and points to the car and says,"car!" he is so proud of himself for making it, and then knowing what it is.
That is mostly the different things he comes home with. Of course they have music time, motor skills time, and reading time. They play pretend a lot, pretending they are trains, birds, tractors. They dance to toddler music and then quiet down with a book. A lot of the things are themed, like this week since mother's day is Sunday, they've been reading books with mommies in it, like mommy farm animals, and mommies in different countries. I'm sure your daughter has fun just being around you, so anything you offer her will be fun :)
