my oldest who is 3 years is such a picky eater, and it worries me a little. i can't get him to eat any solid fruits or vegetable. the only way i can get him to eat any kind of fruit is in a smoothie and even then he only takes a few drinks of it. any advice?
I have a 20 month old who is a very picky eater as well. He only eats veggies in a pouch mixed with a fruit. All he eats is pancakes, grilled cheese, pizza, and mac and cheese. I have tried everything and the only thing that worked a little was eating something and saying how yummy it was. That made him want to try it but it only works for a few things and small portions. If you are worried about him getting the proper nutrition give him vitamins and you should also try giving him some Carnation Good Start powder in his milk. It helped me a lot
Both my kids are also picky eaters. I found a copy of the cookbook Deceptively Delicious and it has TONS of ways to hide fruits and veggies within recipes. I also found if I buy the little pouches that have mesh bags on them and mash fruits (bananas, strawberries, mango, kiwi, etc) and freezing them that my kids eat them like popcicles. I also make butternut squash and cut it into cubes and my kids call them "fruit bites." My son (he's almost 4) will eat dried fruit (banana chips, mango pieces, cranberries, cherries, etc) way before he'll eat fresh fruit. I also get my kids to eat veggies by (as gross as it sounds) letting them eat them with their fingers. I hope these things work for you!!

My son will be two next month and he's such a picky eater!!!! He does not eat anything for breakfast! He used to love eating oatmeal or cream of wheat or even cereals but now he just refuses to eat anything for breakfast!!! He'll have like one cookie with his dad but thats it! He likes to eat pasta with butter for lunch, he used to love yogurt now he wont even open his mouth for it! He does love fruit like mangoes cantelopes etc veggies are a big no no! He does like to eat rice, he doesnt try new things though! He will not go near breads or sandwiches, literally only things he's familiar with! He hates trying new foods! Im so worried that he'll lose weight or not get proper nutrition :( he loves milk, and at night before bedtime i do give him a bottle of pediasure, any advice??
My daughter is a meat eater....just recently she has started enjoying carrots but for the longest time she would not touch anything but meat (largely in part of her grandparents who grilled almost everyday and didnt eat anything but meat) She will be 5 in Dec and she weighs 35lbs. She is tiny and tall....lol Her littler brother who will be 4 in Jan is over 40lbs now. She is coming around and eating more. It helps when im eating something and i comment on how good it tastes and how much i like it. If i say something is nasty in front of them then they wont eat it, wont even try it so i try to always say positive things about food around them so they can get their own opinion about it. But fruit is one thing i have never had a problem getting them to eat. The popcicle thing sounds like a really good idea to try~ Good luck.
My son is the same way. He will only eat crackers, chips and things like that and still drinks alot of milk and juice. I took him to a specialist and they said he was eating just fine but Im still not convinced.
