Im looking for some opinions on this. I am 31 weeks and i have had people say that the first child is usually late then i have people saying if i keep working and standing on my feet all day the baby will come early. I know that everyone is different i just wanted to get other peoples experiences on it
well i wouldnt be the best person to ask seeing that mine was 8 weeks early but of all my friends and relatives who have had children only one, excluding me had theirs early, all the others and theres like 6 others had them realy darn close to their due date.ultimately baby will decide when he/she is ready to come out. hope this helped. oh and that was all their first children too.
I couldn't really say either. My first one was three weeks early and my labor and delivery only lasted for one hour! I always heard that the first one was the one that took the longest, now the nurses are telling me it can actually be the third!
I stopped working 10 days before my due date and my 1st came 8 days late and I had to be induced. My sis in law was two weeks early with her first. So it all depends on the person.
I worked till about a week or 2 before my due date and my son came about 4 days before he was due. I didn't do a lot of exercise, but I worked as a cashier/waitress which required a lot of standing around and walking. Also I switched to part time at about 6 months due to my feet starting to swell and hurt from standing so long. Not sure what is true, i think it would depend a lot more on how your mothers pregnancy went, shape your are in, and mentality.
I have heard that the first pregnancy is the hardest and i am hoping that it is true, but my mom says that she remembers her pregnancies getting longer and harder (at least the labor part).
My W.I.C person told me that i need to get out and walk around more and i went to my doctors appt 2 weeks ago and she like yelled at me because i am walking to much now. She did tell me that if i walk to much as far as i am i am risking myself for a early child birth and even more so being my first child. i am currently 34 weeks pregnant and the doctor does not want me to have the baby before 37 weeks because in the beggining i was a risk factor till they declaired me that i wasnt.
My first son was 6 days late. It is good to walk unless you have a health situaton that makes it otherwise, but you have to know your limits. With my first son I bloated like crazy and it was mid summer, I couldn't move around too much.

I am currently pregnant with my first child and an infection caused me to go into labor at 27 weeks. They stopped it and I still have the occasional "regular set of contractions" at 30 weeks. Just relax, stay healthy (away from people with colds and the flu), and baby will come when he or she is ready. Not all 1st children are late and every pregnancy is different. Good luck!
Like Everyone else said, it really depends on your body. Im currently having my first one, at 37 weeks going 38, and my doctor said she might come out early. Everyone else i know that had their first child, all were early as 2 weeks.
it really depends on your baby and you, if you have complications such as health issues it can be affected on how long your pregnant, i had a healthy pregnancy i didn't have any issues my blood pressure, glucose and weight gain were normal. I did had to get induce since i was 41 weeks pregnant, i did want it a natural birth i was on labor for over 24 hours and no luck until i decided to get the epidural but was to tired and my baby didn't want to drop and he was getting stress i didn't want to risk my babies health so it turn into a c-section. he is my first baby
so be prepare for the unexpected and don't worry if it don't go how you plan it at the end once you see your little one it will be worth it and nothing will matter
Honestly every pregnancy is different and you won't know until you go into labor. I was two weeks over due and found out he was breach and with my second I was one week overdue. Just do what you think is right for you and that baby will come when he/she is ready.

I had stopped working 3 weeks before my due date due to swelling. My son was due feb. 23rd but he wasn't born until march 1st, a week overdue. My doctor had told me almost all first borns come out late, it depends on the person, the baby and any complications, if any arise. I hope that helps.
My daughter was born at 38 weeks. She was my first. I walked a lot and labor was about 3 hours. Walking does help. Stay at work as long as possible so you can stay home longer with your baby after delivery.
