In my pregnancy book it suggests doing perineal massages with lubes or oils for five minutes a day to lessen the stinging burn or a tear. However, the book says if you've already popped out one or two babies, don't bother. That burning sensation is the single worse part about birth (opinion). It is the one reason i want an epidural, the contractions i can handle but that moment when the baby's head pops out... Anyways my question is,
Is there a way to reduce this pain on your second and following births like a massage suggested for first timers or is it a grit it and bear it scenario?
Or even better is the burning part less of a problem with following births compared to the first one and that's why the book said don't bother if you've already given birth before?
