I am 17 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing severe dizziness. I had some dizziness before pregnancy, but now I just feel like I am going to pass out all the time! My first blood test didn't show anemia, but I feel like the dizziness has gotten worse since then. Last time I talked to my Ob/Gyn she didn't seem too concerned, but told me to go to the cardiologist for a holter monitor (basically a 24-hour EKG), but I am still waiting on the results from that. Does anyone have any suggestions or know what it could be?
Are there any other symptoms that you also need to talk to your doctor about? Has anything else changed? I know that when I had bouts of dizziness, my doctor and I discussed anemia ( I was anemic) and ran through other possible symptoms that could indicate deeper concerns.
There is so much going on with your blood vessels and balance and everything else that dizziness can be pretty common. However, if it is constant or interfering with your daily life, I'd insist on more follow-up with your doctor. Good luck!
I honestly get the same way,and with extreme headaches! My DR said it can be slight dehydration,or not eating enough and trying to doing a lot of activity. He also stated in the early stages of pregnancy since all the blood is rushing to our uterus so that can cause dizzyness.

I felt the same way from Jan-March. My doctor also didn't seem to concerened, but suggested that I drink plenty of water, lie on my left side, and eat regularly. I'm not anemic but I have found that eating a protein (meat, beans, etc) helps me from getting really dizzy of fainting. Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you everyone for your comments! I know I get enough water because that is basically all I drink during the day, and it was the first question the doctor asked me and agreed I was drinking enough. I just got some more blood work done today to check for anemia (the first blood test didn't show any, but they are double checking), so we will see if that turns up anything. I will try eating more protein during the day to see if that helps. Other than that I guess we'll see what the doctor thinks at my next appointment. Thanks again everyone for your input.
