Im kind of bad at planning parties and my family isnt really around much to help, what should i get and do for planning a baby shower. I only have a few months left in my pregnacy so im just in a rush doing everything sense i just found out that i was pregnant 4 weeks ago. New Time mom never done this before.
the one thing I always liked at showers were photos of the baby's parents when they were children/babies scattered around to look at. It gives people something to do and often are a conversation starter.
First its best to pick a date, make it in your eigth month so you have time to organize everything you get afterwards. Send out invitations to everyone you want there plus those who should be invited from both friends and family circles. Its best to send out invitaions 3 or 4 weeks in advance so everyone can save the date and be there. Do reminder calls a week before the shower so you know how many people will be there. Everyone needs and deserves a cute cake at their shower, and finger sandwiches and appetizers are all you need for your guests. The baby shower is all about you its your day to be pampered before baby so go nuts and make it all about you :)
the date is the #1 thing! registering for gifts is important but many will buy whatever they want, if you dont want to register you could always say you are having a diaper baby shower and everyone brings diapers and if they want to bring something else they will. youll also need a theme, cake, and food! people dont want to be a party with no food! pick foods you like to eat! everyone is going to want to take pictures with you so make sure you wear something nice. my theme for my baby shower was the fisher price jungle so i gave out animal crackers as my favors! good luck!
You wanna think cheap but still make it look nice. Get all your shower gifts on sale, shop at the dollar tree or walmart. mke a budget for youself remember its your day.In Response to Baby Shower:

i had ny ababy shower literally 3 days before my daughter was born. i planned it in a month. remember games, cake, food, prizes (dollar stores work wonders). invitations should be sent at least 3-4 weeks before the shower, do try to call the people who have not rsvp'd just to be sure to know if they are coming.
