So, I'm 18 years old and I'm living in a city where I barely know anyone... This is my first pregnancy and I desperately need a baby shower... but, I don't have any friends! My family is scattered across the US, too far for me to invite. What do I do? I really need to have one.. how can I get baby's essentials with the limited budget that I have? Any ideas?
Was this a planned pregnancy? Most of the time you don't get the essentials at baby showers anyway and even if you do they won't last very long. Babies constantly need new things. You can't rely on a baby shower to support your child. If I were you I would do some local research and find organizations in your community that could possibly help you out. You could also start a baby registry and ask for gift cards that way out of towners can mail you something simple.

Even if you dont have a baby shower most cities have a church or something that will help you or even free places to get some of the things you will need.. I had a similar problem with my pregnancy with my oldest son.. Things will get better
If you and your family are tech savvy maybe you could do the social part of the shower on skype? I hope you're able to figure something out! My first baby shower helped a lot with all the luxury baby items I didn't know how bad I needed. Check with pregnancy resources in your area, let them know your situation! There is almost always someone out there willing to help someone in need, let them know you need it!
