Vaccines are SAFE. But I wouldn't suggest getting your information from sites like this, where you will only get misinformed opinions. Go educate yourself. Research. Ask questions from professionals...not chat room moms.
I proudly vaccinated my 2 year old. I will continue to vaccinate him. Power is in the numbers!!!
And guess what... I know of a child who has autism and guess what... he was never vaccinated!!!!! So don't buy into the hype. Vaccines save lives!

Actually the "old rumor of vaccines causing autism" is, not a rumor, and has been recently validated by new studies and the irresponsible people who claimed the original research was wrong are now being sued.
Do a lot of research, there have never been a single study done as to the safety of the current schedule of vaccines and they do contain toxins like mercury and foreign animal cells (look at the ingredients lists). There has also been very little evidence that they even work.
If vaccines are so safe, why did the government establish a Vaccine Injury Court that pays out thousands of damages due to these supposedly safe vaccines every year?
There are some great vaccine information sites that are not being paid for by the companies making money off of them that lists the research and all known effects which can include everything from autism, to compromised immune systems, to paralysis, even death.
It is also worth noting that the US gives over 3 times more vaccines than any other part of the world and have they have one of the highest rates of autism and infant mortalities in the developed world. And the amount of vaccines given today is over 30, where as what we were given has children was only a 3rd of that....and look, we're all just fine.
I am firmly convinced that they are not safe. Feel free to send me a private message if you'd like some links for further research.

Yes, they are safe and yes the supposed 'link to autism' was proven to be bogus research and the doctor lost his license.
There are risks and some very rare cases where a baby has a bad reaction, usually from an allergy. Like with adults who are allergic to eggs. That is why they tell you what is a normal reaction (low grade fever under 102) and to have you watch your baby and call if you are the least bit concerned about a possible side effect.
My own son had all his vaccines on schedule and never had any reaction at all, not even a fever.
I recommend all parents do research because knowledge is power.

My biggest protest to people who are so against vaccines is that most of the people that are now against vaccines originally received the vaccines as a child and turned out absolutely healthy and fine and dandy. I can't understand why, if you turned out completely healthy and had a normal childhood thanks to the vaccines you were issued, you wouldn't want the best for your baby or other's babies. There is plenty of evidence that they work. Also, whether or not you received a third of them or fewer, the medical miracles are always happening. If there are more th`ings ot there all the time, new strains of the flu for example, who is to say that the new vaccines are any less safe. There is risk in absolutely everything. Living is a risk. Everyone has their family histories and diseases can be linked through genetics, AUTISM IS ONE OF THEM.

Evidence of some points of the above cited here. ^^^
Also, "Vaccination is a common, memorable event, and association of events in time often signals cause and effect. While some of the sickness or reactions that follow vaccination may be caused by the vaccine, many are unrelated events that occur by coincidence after vaccination. Therefore, the scientific research that attempts to distinguish true vaccine adverse events from unrelated, chance occurrence is important."
