I have been thinking about either not vaccinating or doing just some vaccines for my second child. My husband believes the vaccines are safe and wants to vaccinate all our children, but I have done my research and agree with my mom that they are not entirely safe (as with all medicine, there can be some complications). I do think that with some vaccines the benefits outweigh the risks, but I don't believe that people need all vaccines. Also I have vaccinated my first and he has had several reactions to the vaccines (1 of them was severe).
Does anyone else have disagreements about vaccines with their husbands? How did you come to a agreement, since I am just giving in to my husband right now.
And please dont comment on how vaccines are perfectly safe and that I have to/should vaccinate my child. I know that most people get angry at those that decide not to vaccinate, but this is my belief and I have done my research and know the risks and benefits of vaccines.
Re: do you and your husband agree about vaccinations?
I'd see if your pediatrician is willing to meet with you and your husband, together. You can ask them about your concerns and the benefits of an alternative vaccine schedule, and your husband can voice his concerns. Good luck coming to an agreement!
Re: do you and your husband agree about vaccinations?
My husband and I made the decision about vaccines together. He doesn't have a lot of time to research the information so I did most of the research and information gathering and presented it to him then we made a decision together.
I would just try to give him the information you have gathered. State why you feel the way you do and then let him think on it for a while. You may have to meet in the middle. Maybe he will agree to an alternative schedule or something that you will be more comfortable with if he won't go for not vaccinating at all.
