We helped out with colic by giving our baby a little caffiene free tea, it will help settle the tummy, if you need to keep him full, add some baby rice to your babys food, our problem was he was never full, by adding a little baby rice to his milk he was able to stay fuller longer, Also they sell gripe water in stores look at the ingredients and try to see about a substitute for your baby. 

• Anise to aid digestion
• Angelica to soothe upset stomach
• Caraway to relieve flatulence and indigestion
• Cardamom to relieves flatulence and indigestion
• Catnip to support digestion and relieve upset stomach
• Chamomile to settle the stomach
• Cinnamon bark to aid digestion and relieve flatulence and vomiting
• Dill to dispels flatulence, stimulate appetite and settle stomach
• Fennel for stomach upset, hiccups, gas
• Ginger to ease nausea and other digestive problems
• Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to decrease stomach acidity

those are the basic ingredients most you can find in stores or in your moms cupboard, for instance anise is a sweet black herb, caraway comes in most spice racks, chamomile is in caffiene free tees, cinnamon duh, dill also in most spice racks, and ginger comes in three forms, sodium bicarbonate is baking soda, my gramma used this in her kids bottles of water to ease tummy aches, ask your dr, before anything, Happy baby!

I had a problem with colic. like Irish Triplets, I went to Playtex drop-ins. They helped tremendously. another thing you can do is gently rub the babys tummy in a clockwise motion to help the gas move. My doctor put my daughter on Hyosyne drops which helped (colic drops as he called them). I also used mylicon. My doctor said it was fine to use the bigger dosage because it would not harm the baby. Another tip is to have the baby checked out by someone else. I went 6 weeks before I finally say a 2nd doctor who told me my daughter had reflux. As soon as she got put on prevacid and I started making her sleep on a wedge (or propped up on a pillow) she did MUCH better. If the baby stretches out and arches his/her back alot, that is most likely reflux as described by the specialist we saw. Hope this helps!

What seems to help is getting bottles (if you bottle feed) with air flow technology. It reduces the amount of air the baby takes in while feeding. A SwaddleMe also seems to help. My son would also cry due to colic and his father found out these simple tips and now he feels much better.

I went to a walk-in clinc for my son because my pediactrician wasnt available. He was just about 5 weeks old, when he started being fussy. They said that he is colic, but they weren't definite about it. Their exact words were, "Well it's not acid reflux which is good, but it seems theres some colic there.." What does do for me?!  I am 17 years old, with no idea how to help my poor son, I don't have the money to go buy special things for him.

He is now going on 8 weeks and cries when there isn't a bottle in his mouth. I tried the pacifier but he won't take it because he just always thinks he's hungry. Does this sound like colic or is regular formula not fulfilling enough. I want a MOM'S opinion.

My daughter was like this and the first thing i did was change her bottles. I bought different ones to see which worked best and The Dr bown bottles are great. Then I had to change her formula to gerber good start soothe and add 1 tps of gerber rice ( by adding the rice it makes the milk more thick which fills them up quick, but don't put to much). She is like a new baby now, I don't hear her cry and the gas is gone. she does eat every two hours but no crying. I recommend changing the bottle first.

P.S always check with a doctor because some people use stuff that babies are not supposed to use. You can always call your doctors office and ask the nurse to be on the safe side (That's what I did).

One thing that really helped us when he was 0 to 3 months old was the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and/or book which I think you can get from a library. It shows you multiple ways of calming a baby including swaddling which is the thing that helped him the most to be calm and then to fall asleep. I hope you find something that works. :)
