Hi!
My baby is 5 1/2 months now and i think im going to start to wean her in a few weeks. Mainly because i want to get back on birth control and her teething is beginning to hurt me. lol. I have just began her on solids 2 times a day and plan on going to 3 after she is 6 months. I bought the nuk soft tip sippy and she is taking to it well for juice or water to keep her from getting constipated. my plan is to continue to bf her at first and start her on formula 1 to 2 times a day (maybe when we are out and about) and nurse her at home between solids. Slowly begin to add more formula over breast milk until she is completely weaned. This will also help it from hurting as bad when you start drying up since your milk supply will slowly be decreesing. also not sure if you know what type of bottle you want to use but my lil girl was stricktly bf for the first month and she took well to the tommie tippy once i gave her pumped milk. they really are so much like natural nipple. hope i helped good luck and congrats!!

I tried a bottle the first time at probablly 7 weeks. 6-8 is the reccomendation, because if you wait too long they won't take a bottle at all. I personally plan on breastfeeding until at least a year. We'll see how the teething goes. Milk supply will go down once you start solid food. They'd only burse every 4-5 hours, more like a snack and comfort. Mine will only take NUK nipples though

I hear putting a finger in and detaching as soon as they bite and yelling ouch helps. I know mine gets upset if I yell at all, even if it's at the dog. And about the birth control, they have me on an estrogen only until she starts eating solids as well, partly because the combination ones can decrease milk production..
