Thinking Pink for the Royal Family; Alec Baldwin to be Mr. Mom

Saturday, March 09, 2013 by Amanda Austin from Celebrity Stilettos and Sippy Cups

Do you think just because awards season is coming to a close that celebrities are going to be any less interesting? Think again! There’s plenty of news this week, from "thinking pink" at Buckingham Palace to wedding bells for a former teen star.

Will Princess Catherine be thinking pink? At a recent public event in Grimsby, England, Kate Middleton almost dropped the "d" word (as in daughter!) as a well-wisher handed her a stuffed teddy bear. The someday-queen thanked her by saying, "Thank you, I'll take that for my d..." and then cutting herself off in mid-sentance! A second bystander asked if she meant to say "daughter", and Kate coyly responded that she didn't know! Only four more months until we find out for sure.

Alec Baldwin and his wife of 8 months, Hilaria Thomas, announced on February 12 they were expecting their first child together, and Hilaria opened up about her baby joy during an appearance on The Rachael Ray Show last week. She said Alec was already dreaming up names (like Massimo, which Hilaria said was a “very big name for a very little baby”) and expressing a desire to be Mr. Mom to his new bundle of joy. Although Alec already has some experience with children with 17-year-old daughter, Ireland, Hilaria is skeptical he’ll be ready a second time around: “We’ll see if at 3 o’clock in the morning when the baby is screaming and we need to change the diaper if he’s going to be a Mr. Mom at that point.”

No, it’s certainly never the same at 3 a.m.! I think many of us can vouch for that.

It’s been a little over a week since Adele was awarded her first Oscar for writing the James Bond theme, “Skyfall”, for the movie of the same name. Adele arrived back home early this week and Tweeted a picture of her new gold hardware next to a miniature souvenir statuette emblazoned with “Best Son” – a gift for her 5-month-old son with fiancé Simon Konecki!  The couple traveled with their baby (whose name they haven’t released) to Los Angeles for the ceremony. How many other infants do you know with their very own “Oscar”?

First comes love…next come marriage for Jamie Lynn Spears, former Nickelodeon star, teen mom and younger sister to Britney Spears! Jamie Lynn tweeted a sweet picture last night flashing a gorgeous new engagement ring and hugging her boyfriend of three years, Jamie Watson. She followed it up with a second Instagram close-up of the ring, a round diamond with diamond band, with the hashtag #hedidgood. Congrats to the happy couple!

What do you think about the potential girl news for the royal family? Who wakes up with the kids at 3am in your house?
