No joke -- Shakira is a mama! The Latin pop singer, 25, gave birth today in Barcelona, Spain, a few weeks after her Spanish boyfriend, Girard Pique, 35, tricked his Twitter followers into believing their son was born during a Dia de los Innocentes prank. Shakira shared the happy news on her website, announcing the birth weight (6 lbs, 6 oz) and his name -- Milan Pique Mebarak, which means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic. Congrats to the couple on their first child -- and get ready for the time of your lives!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last week, you’ve no doubt heard the shocking story of deception surrounding Manti Te’o, Heisman candidate and Notre Dame football star, whose dramatic story about his girlfriend passing away the same day as his grandmother skyrocketed him to sports celebrity status was reveled to be an elaborate hoax! Deadspin broke the news in a well-researched article, creating media frenzy. Te’o has been relatively mum on the hoax, conducting an off-camera interview with Sports Illustrated Friday, but will spill it all with Katie Couric on Thursday. The interview will be taped at an undisclosed location and will include Te’o’s parents, who said they were also taken in by the story of Lennay Kekua, the fictional girlfriend who participated in Bible studies with the entire family via text message. The interview will air on Katie Couric’s talk show, Katie (check local listings for the time and channel.)

During last week’s Golden Globes ceremony, Jodie Foster poured her heart out during a long, cryptic acceptance speech following her lifetime achievement award win. This week, more speculation rose to the surface about her life with former partner, Cydney Bernard, whom she thanked during the speech, as well as the father of her two children, Charlie, 14, and Kit, 12. Although she’s never dropped the name of her son’s father, some are speculating that it could be her longtime friend and confidant Mel Gibson! She thanked Mel during her speech, and has stood by the star despite all his recent troubles. According to a source in a recent New York Post article, the two boys look like Mel Gibson, but blonder.

Tom Arnold, who recently played Georgie on Sons of Anarchy, shared some wonderful news – he and his wife Ashley Groussman, are expecting a little boy! The True Lies star announced the gender while he was cohosting The View on Friday. Tom Arnold, who married third wife Ashley in 2009, has discussed his fertility struggles in the past, and said he and Ashley underwent two rounds of in vitro before they found out they were expecting. The baby is due in March.
And baby makes three for American Idol season eight finalist Danny Gokey and his wife Leyicet Peralta! The couple welcomed their first child together on Sunday night – a son named Daniel Emanuel Gokey. Danny tweeted the good news on Sunday night: “It’s Official, I’m a daddy!!!” He told People magazine he was overjoyed to “have a new little buddy to hang out with.” Danny and Leyicet will celebrate their first anniversary on January 29.
