Fifty Shades of Mommy Porn Picture

Are you reading Fifty Shades of Grey? If you aren’t reading it, have you at least heard of it? This new bestseller is quite the phenomenon – it’s not only acceptable to read this erotic literature, it’s also okay to let everyone know you’re reading erotic literature! It’s even making numerous headlines and will be appearing on Friday’s 20/20.

In this novel, Christian Grey, a young billionaire, has a “fetish for dominating women and using a variety of BDSM – short for bondage, discipline, sadism, and masochism – toys.” A young, recent graduate, Anastasia, is asked to become his submissive partner – to obey his every request or to be punished by spanking, whipping, caning, and much, much more (however, it doesn’t quite go there).

I decided to see what all of the fuss was about after reading in a few magazines that not only are they are going to turn this into a movie (Rated… ??), but that this is apparently on every Mommy’s e-reader!

This book is HOT. And it’s also not. Call me a prude – go ahead. But I couldn’t help thinking “abusive,” and “sick,” were appropriate descriptions, and when did it become okay to write about an inappropriate relationship between an adult and an underage child and turn it into a romantic bestseller? I am a writer, and I get it – sometimes, we write about unpleasant things. But the author, E.L. James, has Grey convinced that this was fine. And she tries to convince Anastasia its fine too (Thankfully she seemed resistant to this idea – which I suppose she should be spanked for??).

The author also spilled that she tried out a lot of what you read in the book on her husband, saying “It’s all my fantasies in, in one thing.” Thanks for telling us that, but I really don’t want insight into your bedroom, and I won’t give you insight into mine, especially if suspension and chains are involved in yours.  Go ahead and hate on me for preferring “vanilla.” It is what it is.

This is, plainly and simply, Mommy porn. Porn you can talk about at the playground. Porn that is becoming widely accepted in modest circles; and porn that is earning a certain author over seven figures (maybe that’s why I’m getting my hate on).

But … I did read it. All of it.

Did you?

Want to meet me at the playground to talk about it?

  5. I’ve also heard of this book and after reading the summary I was turned-off from it. I hope I never cross paths with it again!
