Author: Helen Golden

For more than 20 years, Helen has been helping people lose weight, get fit and live longer at any age with her motivating advice, exercise tips, magazine articles, coaching, and more!

Helen Golden is an innovator in the exercise and sports industry. A five-foot-five-inch dynamo, she has served as a military cop, was a nationally ranked fitness competitor, a fitness editor for Women’s Health & Fitness magazine, ePregnancy Magazine and Real Magazine. She is the co-founder of www.pernax.com.

Helen’s trademark zest for life, love of all things fitness related, and her, “If I can do it, you can do it” attitude have endeared her to thousands of fans across the country. A multimedia talent, Helen is now the Director of Pilates in Park City Utah, a highly sought-after guest instructor and avid adventure racer. Her atomic energy and unique ability to make people feel about the skin they’re in is why people gravitate to her.

Born in Korea and raised around the globe (think military brat), Helen’s fitness journey started at the age of 12, eventually earning her a full-ride scholarship to attend the Marion Military Acadamy in Alabama. In 1989, she graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She began her career teaching aerobic exercise classes in the Atlanta area and went on to become one of the most revered trainers in Hot’Lanta. In 1999, she landed the fitness editor’s role with Women’s Health & Fitness magazine and released her first online workout series two years later, Body Potential. From 2002 to 2004, she was the fitness expert for ePregnancy magazine.

In addition to her role as a spokeswoman for such major brands as Power Bar and Met-Rx, Helen has championed the benefits of heart health and good nutrition throughout her career. She is serving as a curriculum advisor on Physical Fitness and Sports for the Park City Charter School, Weilenmann School of Discovery. Most recently Helen has designed a workout… the IMX pilates program. This program uses a unique gym in a bag equipment that can be used just about anywhere.

Helen has been married for more than 10 years to Tony Golden, a fellow fitness buff and publisher. They have two children, Waverly Jeune and TJ.
